Delinquent Tax Collection

The purpose of the Delinquent Property Tax Office is to collect back taxes, taxes which are at least one year past due, owed to county or state organizations. Each year the tax department works with individual home owners and business owners to ensure prompt payment of taxes.

In some cases, the tax department sets up escrow accounts which allow individual property owners the opportunity to make regular payments on the outstanding debt.

In the event that a property owner is unwilling to meet his/her financial obligation, the tax department may file a lien and begin the foreclosure process.
